ASSOCIATE GENERAL COUNSEL
DULUTH, GA

 

Given Imaging is redefining medical technology by developing, producing and marketing innovative, patient-friendly diagnostic products.  We are currently seeking an Associate General Counsel to work in our Duluth, GA location. 

 

The position will serve as in-house legal counsel to the U.S. subsidiary of a global public company in the medical device field as part of the global legal team.  Specific areas of practice will include: healthcare laws and regulations (anti-kickback, FDA, state law requirements, etc.), commercial contracts, corporate governance, compliance and risk management and other areas as needed.  

 

The essential duties and responsibilities of the position include the following:

• Provide legal services to U.S. operation
  
  
• Identify and protect against legal risks facing the company in the medical device industry
  
  
• Manage a variety of compliance requirements and assist in the development and implementation of required policies and procedures (healthcare law compliance, code of business conduct, securities laws and regulations)
  
  
• Write, negotiate and administer a variety of commercial contracts, including, sales, licensing, service, consulting and employment contracts
  
  
• Assist the General Counsel in the preparation of reports required from a public company
  
  
• Develop and recommend company policy and position on legal issues
  
  
• Conduct and coordinate research into a variety of legal issues
  
  
• Write, review, and edit reports, opinions, correspondence, articles, and other documents
  

 

The qualified candidate will possess and display the following skills and personal attributes:

• Bachelor’s Degree and Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
  
  
• Knowledge of federal, state and local laws, particularly those relevant to the medical device industry.
  
  
• Three to six years of healthcare law experience.
  
  
• Strong organization and time management skills.
  
  
• Requires membership in the State Bar as an attorney qualified to practice law in this state.
  
  
• Experience with commercial law, public company environment and/or working in an in-house position are a plus.
  
  
• Ability to work independently and effectively within a global organization, as well as in a highly collaborative team environment.
  
  
• Ability to develop approaches to protect the company and maintain its ethical and cultural environment.
  
  
• Demonstrated adherence to high standards of ethics and accuracy.
