CONTROLLER
LOS ANGELES, CA

 

Given Imaging is redefining medical technology by developing, producing and marketing innovative, patient-friendly diagnostic products. We are currently seeking a Controller to join our team located in Los Angeles, California.

The Controller will provide leadership and coordination of the company’s financial reporting, cost accounting and budget management functions and insure the company’s accounting procedures conform to Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP).

The essential duties and responsibilities of the position include the following:

• Directs and coordinates company financial reporting and budget management functions
• Responsible for the development, management and timely reporting of financial information reflecting the company’s performance to Corporate Finance in Israel as well as financial management in Duluth
• Recommends benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance of departments
• Monitors and analyzes monthly operating results against budget
• Oversees the daily operations of the finance department
• Manages the preparation of the financial l forecasts and prepares metrics to compare performance to these forecasts
• Prepares financial analysis for contract negotiations and product investment decisions
• Ensures compliance with local, state and federal tax reporting requirements
• Establishes and implements short and long range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures
• Designs, establishes, and maintains an organizational structure/staffing to effectively accomplish the department’s goals and objectives
• Oversees the financial management, costing and consolidations
• Performs the financial consolidation for the entire company/subsidiary
• Directs financial audits and provides recommendations for procedural improvements
• Performs other assignments as assigned

 

The qualified candidate will possess and display the following skills and personal attributes:

• BS/BA Business Administration required with an MBA, CPA or CMA preferred
• 10+ years of experience in a financial accounting and reporting role
• 5 years supervisory experience
• Manufacturing environment and extensive cost accounting experience preferred
• Evaluating and implementing operating and financial process and procedure experience
• Must possess the ability to build strong partnership both internally and externally
• Strong Business Acumen and Customer Focus
• Ability and desire to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
• Must be an action-oriented contributor
• Superior leadership and communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously
• Microsoft office skills, with expert Excel/spreadsheet and PowerPoint skills. SAP, Business Warehouse and Hyperion experience, a plus
