FIELD POLICY MANAGER
Given Imaging is redefining medical technology by developing, producing and marketing innovative, patient-friendly diagnostic products. We are currently seeking a Field Policy Manager to join our Reimbursement team. This position will be located in the East Coast region.
The role will support sales and business growth by ensuring payer coverage and payment policy is established with all third party payers, including federal and state governments, for existing and future products. The position requires the ability to obtain positive coverage policy and payment for all products by interfacing directly with medical directors and other key payer decision makers of Medicare Part B, BCBS, HMO, MCO and other commercial payers. Assist in the development of reimbursement strategies to attain these goals. This position operates independently in the field and will be responsible for the East Coast.
The essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
· Communicate with payers to obtain initial positive payer coverage and ongoing positive coverage revisions with government and non government payer organizations.
· Implement reimbursement strategies that proactively integrate existing published peer reviewed clinical and economic studies
· Participate and attend a variety of medical professional agency meetings.
· Assist in the development and delivery of clinical and economic materials for case manager educational programs
· Assist in the development of reimbursement strategies for future products.
The qualified candidate will possess and display the following skills and personal attributes:
· 10 + years experience in the healthcare policy development and coverage determination process within the medical device industry.
· Bachelor’s degree is required.
· Some clinical background is strongly recommended
· Excellent written and oral communication skills.
· Project management experience and time management skills
· Ability to communicate clearly and succinctly at all levels externally and internally including, medical committees and staff, medical decision makers, managers and senior managers.
· Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.
· Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook and Internet software.
· 50-60% travel is required.
· Responsible for the East Coast, must live in a metro area with easy airport access.
